Bert Miller

I have been at WACO since 1989. Before that I taught in the Pocatello School District in Idaho.

I grew up in Riverside, California and Iowa City, IA and graduated from Iowa City High School. I attended The University of Iowa where I graduated with a BA studying Biology, Geology and Mathematics. After that I moved to Idaho where I graduated from Idaho State University in Science Education. I went on to receive my LMS in library science there too. Then I moved back to Iowa in 1989 to work at WACO and continued my education earning an MS in Education at Drake University in Des Moines.

I live in Mount Pleasant, IA with my wife Laura. I have two children: Tyler, who is a mountain climber instructor with Boys Scouts of America, and Anna, who is doing a doctor of nursing program at Colorado State University. I basically enjoy doing anything outdoors: rock climbing, kayaking, bow hunting, fishing, bicycling, gardening, hiking, surfing - you get the idea.

I love libraries and books. I also enjoy subbing in every subject and in all grade levels. I coach the Quiz Bowl Team which is a lot of fun and it helps students learn new information and to think quickly. I work hard each school year to get to know students and to help them succeed. I am looking forward to an awesome year!
