First and second grade students have been working on rhythms in music class. Last week, they did a "Write the Room" activity where they walked around the room to find rhythms and then copied them down on their paper. Nice job first and second graders!

2nd graders have been learning all about careers and the many ways people contribute to our community as a part of our social studies unit! 👩‍⚕️👨‍🚒👩‍🏫 We were so fortunate to have several parents visit to share about their jobs and experiences. Hearing real-life stories made our learning even more meaningful and exciting! A big thank you to all of the parents and Washington County Ambulance services who took the time to come in and speak with us—we truly appreciate your support and for helping inspire our students to dream big about their futures! 🌟

Our WACO Staff Shoutout this week goes to JH/HS Counselor : Rita Alspach

💬 Read what one student had to say about Rita:
"Rita is always so positive, caring, and ready to take on any challenge we bring her way. She works incredibly hard to help us manage our schedules and navigate college classes.
She truly goes above and beyond to make sure her students feel supported and valued.
We love and appreciate you so much, Rita!"

WACO Families,

As a follow-up to my earlier message, school is still on as scheduled.

We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from our community and beyond. Our team continues to assess the damages this evening and will be back at it in the morning.

We will share more information soon for those interested in helping with cleanup efforts.

Thank you for your continued support.

Dear WACO Families,

I want to share an important update with you following the recent storm. Our Jr./Sr. High School sustained some damage, and out of an abundance of caution, access to the building is currently restricted while we fully assess the situation and ensure it is safe for everyone.

At this time, we are still planning to have school tomorrow. We will continue to communicate any updates as we learn more.

I am incredibly grateful for the support of our community and the many individuals who have already reached out to offer help.

We appreciate your understanding and partnership as we work through this situation together and keep the safety of our students and staff as our top priority.
