Ms. Myers's second grade class practiced ordering at a cafe and counting proper change today at the Warrior Way Café. Ms. Myers opened the "cafe" right inside their classroom! ☕🧡 Students practiced calculating totals, ordering, and paying with exact change — and a few even helped work the stand like true baristas! 👩🍳👨🍳 After making their purchases, they pretended they were in a real coffee shop, sipping their iced (non-caffeinated) sweet drinks while working on counting coins. 🧮 💵 It was such a fun way to bring math and life skills together! #WarriorWayCafe #RealWorldLearning #MathInAction #SecondGradeSmiles

Students in Ms. Myers' second grade classroom completed a measurement scavenger hunt on the playground today to review skills on how to measure! Students even got to use a tape measure to measure and compare lengths in inches, feet, and centimeters. 📏📚

Maize Gets Top 10 Finish
WACO freshman Ian Maize earned a 6th place finish at the National High
School Coaches Association Nationals at Virginia Beach last weekend.
He racked up seven wins in his bracket of more than 150 wrestlers,
picking up wins against wrestlers from Connecticut, Ohio, New York, Florida,
Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

Students in Mrs. Miller's class engaged in a debate with Mrs. Settles (acting as President James Madison) to debate whether or not to engage England in war in 1812. Both sides for and against did a great job explaining their positions. It was a hard decision but Mrs. Settles decided not to go to war which was different than the real President Madison's decision years ago! The students enjoyed preparing for this and trying to guess what Mrs. Settles' decision was going to be! They have all been learning so much about the War of 1812 and have much to be proud of! We had to take a few silly pictures too!
